SESSION OVERVIEW

“Triple Threats or Triple Assets? - Young, LGBTQ, and POC (People of Color/Culture)
LGBTQ+ youth of color/culture may be seen as a potential threat” to various communities and society, but how can agencies and service providers use their assets to better understand and work together as allies? This question will be discussed heavily in this workshop catered to those who work with LGBTQ+ youth, especially of POC (People of Color) and immigrants. As a result of the diversity of those we serve, as well as the staff working within our agency, our JEDI (Justice, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) Team has implemented supportive techniques for those who identify as LGBTQ+ folx, especially those who have various intersectionality's, like those in residential care and cultures who may not be welcoming or open for education.
