Cory Schneider is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in private practice in Los Angeles who specializes in LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals and couples. He holds a graduate degree from Antioch University Los Angeles in Clinical Psychology with specialization in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) studies. Schneider support public, charter, and private schools to initiate and implement LGBTQ Inclusivity Initiatives that ensure psychological safety, and boost educational equity and academic achievement. He has trained hundreds of teachers, counselors, parents, youth and administrators thru his consultancy, Affirmative Foundations. Interventions for LGBTQ Bullied Youth
This interactive workshop gives participants the tools to empower students and increase self-esteem in LGBTQ identities thru a comprehensive understanding of Affirmative Mental Health. Schneider provides an overview of the Social-Emotional Learning and early LGBTQ Intersectionality Identity models and presents the principles of Affirmative Psychology with experiential coached simulations on specific Jungian, Narrative and Cognitive-Behavioral interventions that non-clinicians can employ to increase self-esteem, enhance individuation and boost healthy self-awareness.
